Poem

Wrote this to represent when God was leading the Israelites in the desert through the fire. That although the desert is hot, and it's hard to get relief, that God will never change; He may not come in water just yet, but He is there, He is still there. He comes to us how He knows He should. He allows us to grow, He allows us to become stronger. God, shape me like You shaped them; burn down the parts of me that are not in line with You.

Burning bushes,
incandescence,
searing suns, and
wounded peasants.

Eyes become dry,
pillows are rocks;
flames in darkness
awakened shock.

Fire cuts through night;
pained feet follow.
We will travel;
forget how low!

We cry, “Water!”
we weep for rain.
Our tears cannot
drench all our pain.

We will follow
wherever, Lord.
The heat is rough,
but you’re worth more.

He will come soon,
like rainfall in drought.
Healing is quick;
His love drives out doubt.
